Competition Results!

The ‘Inspiration’ nail art competition ended today and I am happy to announce that Camelia Bhaskar of Adventures in Beautyland won win her lovely Blue and White Polka design – inspired by a blue and white polka dot dress!

It was a close call, Camelia won with 151 votes, just 4 more than competitor bebe1221 who managed to scoop up 147 votes for her Bob Marley design. Coming in third was Intraordinary with her Minion Nails, at 94 votes. I was thrilled to see that a whole 438 votes were cast in this competition – thank you for everybody who took part. As her prize, Camelia will get to choose between a free false nail set designed by myself + a voucher code for my Etsy shop, or some nail art supplies. Her facebook page will also be featured in a blog post here on the Nail Artisan blog, so keep an eye out for that!

And don’t forget the prize draw for the voters! 14 people put their names down for the draw, and after running the names through a random number generator, the winner was number 9 – favmoongirl! She will receive a 10% off voucher code for my Etsy shop – congratulations favmoongirl!

Only half an hour until voting closes and we announce our winner! Right now it’s a very close run between two of our competitors – but everything could change! Voting Deadline Change

Hi guys, I’m going to be going down to London on Friday, so a little change of plan regarding the voting. The deadline for voting will now be midday (GMT) on Wednesday 7th August – this will allow me to post the winner, sort out prizes, etc. The majority of the voting seems to have taken place now in any case so it shouldn’t make much of a difference 🙂 But if you want to now would be the final time to make a final push and direct people to the competition (remember we’re not asking directly for votes – we want you to win for your design, not because you have the most followers/friends/likes!). And voters, don’t forget that if you want to be included in the prize draw for the voucher, you need to comment saying that you’ve voted!

Late Entries

Hey guys, I understand that there was some confusion regarding the competition deadline due to poor wording in my post announcing the contest. Because of this I received a few messages yesterday from people trying to submit their design. As this was my fault, I’ve decided to let people come in as late entries – I will be trying to get into contact with everyone who tried to submit yesterday and will edit the competition entries post later today, so even if you’ve voted already, remember to give the new entrants and their designs a look! 🙂

Competition Entries – Voting is Open!

I’m glad to say that we’ve had a really great turn out for this competition – 11 amazing nail artists with 11 gorgeous designs! Voting is now open – all you have to do is use the poll at the bottom to choose your favourite, only one vote each so make it count! As I said before there will also be a draw for a 10% off coupon code for my Etsy store, so if you’d like to be entered in for that, just leave a comment below saying that you voted (you don’t have to say who you voted for if you don’t want to 🙂 ). Voting ends 12:01 GMT Friday 8th, so get voting, and spread the word to anyone you think might be interested 🙂 Good luck to all the competitors, I can’t wait to see who will win!

EDIT: Can I just say to the competitors that I don’t mind people directing their followers/fans/friends to this page (I encourage it in fact! :P) but can you please not ask them to specifically vote for your entry please – it’s just that not all the competitors here have blogs or facebook pages, etc. so it doesn’t really seem fair. Just ask people to vote for their favourite and I’m sure you’ll still do just as well 🙂

EDIT THE SECOND: Remember voters, if you don’t leave a comment saying you’ve voted you won’t be entered into the draw for the voucher! The poll doesn’t give any information saying who has cast a vote so you need to leave your name to be entered.

I don’t have any links for Jacqueline Schmidt, but in her e-mail submitting her entry she provided this extract on her inspiration for the design:

‘I walked through our garden and thought about which design I should create.It had to be a special design what is easy to do but extraordinary.Then I saw this little bush you can see on the picture and I did know what I had to do…

Of course I pressed the leaves and in the evening I put them on my nails.The glitter on them brings glamour in that naturally design =) But in the evening I had the idea of doing an upgrade on them so they would look like jungle nails!!!

I think that this is a really good-looking design and it is so easy to do!’
