Barry M Nail Paint – Indigo – £2.99

Barry M Basecoat & Topcoat – £2.99

Nail Star Nail Art Pen & Brush – Silver – Bought online in set

Tutorial

Difficulty – 3/10

This one’s a cute design that’s pretty easy to do and you can easily change the colours around to mix it up a little. I was torn between a matte or gloss finish, but in the end I decided the matte might look a little strange with the glitter.

1. Apply base coat.

2. Apply two coats of South Pacific.

3. Apply two coats of Indigo to the tips of your nails.

4. Using a striping brush, or carefully using a normal glitter nail polish, apply a line of silver glitter between the two shades of the blue where they meet.

5. Apply top coat.

Simple!

Cosmetic Sponge

Tutorial

Difficulty – 9/10

This one took some time but I’m really pleased with the results! I used a cosmetic sponge to apply the background gradient, which blends from black, through red and orange, to yellow at the end. I used my Barry M nail art pen to draw the silhouette outlines and then filled them in with black nail polish and a brush.

Voters Draw – Coupon

I was previously going to use the names of all the people who liked the voting page to put into the draw for the 25% off coupon. However I’ve realised that this isn’t fair as people may not have liked the page when casting their vote or may have liked the page but not voted (I had thought the poll would have told me who participated, but apparently not). Can everyone who participated in voting please just comment on this page, no need to say who for, just to let me know you joined in 🙂 Voting closes at 11:59pm GMT tomorrow, so anyone who hasn’t voted yet quickly pop on over to the submissions page and please use the poll to cast your vote. The winner of the coupon will be announced in the same post as the winner of the competition. Good luck everyone!

What I Used:

Technic Nail Varnish – South Pacific – 99p

Nail Star Translucent Silver Glitter Nail Art Pen & Brush – Bought online in a set

Barry M Topcoat & Basecoat – £2.99

Tutorial

Difficulty – 1/10

This is really easy and really pretty – you need to choose a glitter varnish that is translucent so that it doesn’t alter the base colour when you apply it.

1. Apply base coat.

2. Apply two coats of South Pacific.

3. Apply the glitter, don’t make any neat lines, just cover the tip and then streak it down. Try to make it denser as it approaches the tip of the nail.

4. Apply top coat.
